Probiotic Mango Lassi

Mango Lassi - Super simple, probiotic, sugar-free treat

A mango lassi is a sweet, tangy and refreshing drink that is basically a mango smoothie! It is a healthy sugar free and probiotic treat!

Scale

Ingredients

  • 2 large ripe mangoes (about 1 lbs worth)
  • 2 cups of cultured dairy or vegan milk (see notes for options)

Instructions

  1. Peel the mango and cut it off the pit. Place all of mango in a blender.
  2. Puree the mango. If you want a pulp-free lassi, then push the mango through a sieve discarding the fibers. (I usually don’t bother with this step, because I like fiber.)
  3. Return the puree to the blender and add in the cultured dairy. Blend until smooth and serve, or store in the fridge for up to 24 hours.

Notes

  • If you don’t have a Blendtec or a Vitamix (affiliate links) then you might have to add the milk with the mango to help it blend.
  • For a traditional lassi, use yogurt for the dairy. Otherwise you can use milk kefir or cultured buttermilk.
  • For a NON-DAIRY LASSI, use cultured coconut yogurt or almond yogurt.
  • I don’t add sugar, but if you like your lassi sweeter then add up to 4 tsp of sugar per batch.
  • If you have leftovers, freeze it in a popsicle maker for a probiotic creamsicle.
