Fermentation Supplies

How do you know when fermented foods have gone off - what is the shelf life

Looking for fermentation supplies? Here are some products that I genuinely love and recommend.

Cultures

Looking for tempeh starter, cheese kits or a kombucha SCOBY? I recommend checking out Cultures for Health. They make high-quality cultures and have tons of different products. If you want to try a new culture, then they’ll have what you’re looking for!

Fermentation Supplies

Fermenting is really easy. You don’t need any special equipment to bake a loaf of sourdough bread or make a jar of sauerkraut. However, having some basic fermentation supplies does make things easier.

My absolutely FAVOURITE fermentation tool is my folding fermentation box! Officially sold for bread and yogurt, it’s perfect for all sorts of ferments from cheese to tempeh!

If you really get into fermented vegetables, then it’s worth investing in a few high-quality fido jars. These are glass jars with a rubber-ring that acts as a gasket to release pressure while keeping out contaminants.

Whatever you do, don’t buy decorative fido jars. They aren’t built to handle the carbonation and can easily break.
